when mummy said that she's bringing us to the SKC dog show, yoyo & i were so excited. furthermore, hammer will be going there too.

it's yoyo's 1st meeting with hammer & visit to the dog show... however, the dog show was a disappointment! not much pooches around.... *sigh*

luckily, hammer saved the day...he invited us to his new apartment...

Mood:  accident prone
Topic: lazy thoughts

i didn't expect yoyo to have a panic attack, when i tried to share some domestic information with her *giggle*

when i mentioned that granny is going off to china for the holidays, during the chinese new year's period. she was stunned!

then i pointed out to her that uncle jeff & auntie ruth will also be out of the country during that same time, she totally freaked out!

she worries that both of us will be left hungry & thirsty during that 2 weeks... i have to remind her that mummy is still with us for the entire absence of granny, uncle jeff & auntie ruth...*phew*

a walk in the park
Mood:  flirty
Topic: lazy thoughts

we have not been going to the park for quite a while now, as most sections of the park was going through a major re- construction, & what's left of it are muddy, or dead- end pathways.

so, mummy has been walking us by a new route...kind of boring, because i miss my friends in the tampines park. anyway, i heard that most of my friends stopped going to the park too, for the same reason.

anyway, yoyo & i decided we'll go to the park today, hoping to catch up with our friends, if we are lucky...

the good, the bad & the naughty
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: lazy thoughts

2006- it has been an eventful year for me. for the whole of 2003-2005, my life had always been rather blissful & happy.

the bad:

  • loppy passed away due to old age. he was my 1st friend when i  came to singapore. auntie lynette & family still grieves for him.
  • 1 week later, grandpa passed away... we still mourns for him, especially granny & mummy.

the good:

  • we welcome yoyo in to our house, when my buddy adopted her! (yoyo will be staying temporary with us, for the time being )
  • i finally slimmed down (1kg)! the reason was my constant play-fight with yoyo @ home...
  • yoyo finally gained some weight...when she 1st came to our house, she was a scrawny & smelly girl.
  • nov 2006, uncle jeff & auntie ruth finally weds in a grand stlye!

the 'naughty' (aka yoyo):

she was previously adopted by 4 families (within 2006) before she came here in late may 2006. because she lacked proper training & dicipline, as well as being caged 24/7 by her 1st owner, she has no social skills. that was the reason why her previous 2nd- 4th owners had to give her up. hence, she had always felt insecure & clueless as to why she was always being punished & passed from one owner to another.

however, she is a good girl, but untrainable- took us 2 months to train her to 'sit' on command. but she's not an agressive girl @ all. when being punished, tears will well-up in her eyes & she will hide under the bed. we supposed she had been badly spanked (by the brute force of her previous owners' hand), because each time, my mummy & her mummy raise their hands, wanting to pat her on her head, she'll curl up her body in fear... *sigh*

ok, ok, let's not side track... what yoyo had been up to, that she is being termed 'naughty', as in her bizarre behaviors:

  • she loves to pee & poo on everybody's bed!!!
  • she will poo anywhere in our house
  • she eats anything she can find on the floor, wall & table , including ant killer gel! *faints*
  • she ran away from my house 4 times. once, for about 4 days. all of us had to knock on every doors in our block & our neighboring flats. we pasted posters illegally in our neighborhood, & shouted for her...all under the blazing hot weather. for the other 3 times, she was running dangerously across the busy road when we found her 30mins later...

but she is adorable... it's always up to me, her big sister, to bark @ her before she does anything wrong again. for example, when she got ready to jump onto the dining table, i'll bark @ her to stop (& she does!); also, i'll keep on high alert everytime she walks near to the door (she loves adventure...of sneaking away from home. she thinks we'll be lucky to get her back safely everytime!)

oh my, what a heavy responsibilty i have as a big sister to yoyo...

anyway, to sum up on our 2006, watch this video.

Mood:  special
Topic: lazy thoughts

it's been 6 months since yoyo came here to stay...yet the insecurities & bad memories (as 'twinkle') never left her.

she keeps thinking that we'll send her away, like her previous owners *sigh*

so, i reaasure her that her mummy, my mummy & everyone of us will be celebrating with her on christmas' eve & christmas day, and many other special days!

mummy's cousin & her daughters came over to our house, after their sunday church service. and yoyo was told to be on her best behavior as we worried that she may startle the youngest girl, since yoyo is quite a madcap when she sees strangers...

my mexican friends- coco & cookie
Mood:  cool
Topic: lazy thoughts

coco & cookie, if you can remember from my previous post, are mummy's friend's little ones. they had just send me some new pictures of themselves, & i like to share them with you.

it was more than a year ago since we exchanged words, ahem... barks. and we had planned to go to the beach for picnic, if mummy can return me the anticipated rain check.  i'm also gonna introduce my sister (yoyo) to coco & cookie.

what is it like to be a single, working mother?
Mood:  crushed out
Topic: lazy thoughts

it is hard. very very hard. my mama is a single mother, with a girl (that's me!) almost 4. adding to her burden, yoyo is her god- daughter.

  • every morning, she'll change our dry food & water
  • rush to work
  • get dinner ready (if granny is too tired)
  • walk us
  • clean our ears, paws & brush our furs
  • bring her work home
  • It's hectic, crazy, busy, and sometimes yoyo & i sit and whine for hours because we're bored & frustrated, while mummy is worn out and just plain tired.

but according to mummy, it's gratifying to see us rushing towards her & greet her @ the door...

hurling us to the groomer
Mood:  don't ask
Topic: lazy thoughts

mummy made an appointment @ 6.30pm with my groomer today. when i overheard the conversation between them, i hurried-scurried over to yoyo so as to warn her of the impending 'danger'...

yoyo took no hint & felt that she is 'safe' since her fur is so short; while i, hid under the bed... nevertheless, both of us were hurled to the groomer @ the appointed time. yoyo was to receive the basic grooming, and i received the overall makeover (full grooming)...

i forgot to detail to all of you that as we were reluctantly getting trimmed, mummy went for her manicure & pedicure... all because uncle jeff & auntie ruth is officially holding the marriage ceremony tomorrow *smiles*

some dog jokes...
Mood:  mischievious
Topic: lazy thoughts

Sick Dog

A couple buys this cute little dog. They take him home and two days later the dog becomes very lazy. It won´t eat, doesn´t bark, heck it doesn´t even move at all.

So the couple decides to take the dog to the Vet. The Vet looks at the dog and then lays it on the floor. He then brings a cat into the room and sets it beside the dog. The cat crawls all over the dog for several minutes and then runs around the dog four times before the Vet picks up the cat and puts him back in his cage.

The Vet then turns to the couple and says, "I´m sorry to tell you this, but your dog is dead... That´ll be $225.00."

"$225.00?," screamed the outraged man. "You expect me to pay you that much just to tell me my dog is dead?"

The Vet replied, "It´s only $25.00 for the office visit and $200.00 for the Cat Scan."

A Dog's Job
A salesman dropped in to see a business customer. Not a soul was in the office except a big dog emptying wastebaskets. The salesman stared at the animal, wondering if his imagination could be playing tricks on him.
The dog looked up and said, "Don't be surprised. This is just part of my job."
"Incredible!" exclaimed the man. "I can't believe it! Does your boss know what a prize he has in you? An animal that can talk!"
"No, no," pleaded the dog. "Please don't! If that man finds out I can talk, he'll have me answering the phone too!"

The Momentous Question
For months Bill had been Lynn´s devoted admirer. At long last he had collected sufficient courage to ask her the momentous question.
"There are quite a lot of advantages to being a bachelor," Bill began, "but there comes a time when one longs for the companionship of another being, a being who will regard one as perfect, as an idol; whom one can treat as one´s absolute own; who will be kind and faithful when times are hard; who will share one´s joys and sorrows."
To his delight, Bill saw a sympathetic gleam in Lynn´s eyes. Then she nodded in agreement, "I think it´s a wonderful idea! Can I help you pick out a puppy?"

Amazing Dog
An avid duck hunter was in the market for a new bird dog. His search ended when he found a dog that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by his find, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him.
He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, a pessimist by nature, and invited him to hunt with him and his new dog. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. They fired, and a duck fell. The dog responded and jumped into the water. The dog, however, did not sink but instead walked across the water to retrieve the bird, never getting more than his paws wet. The friend saw everything but did not say a single word.
On the drive home the hunter asked his friend, "Did you notice anything unusual about my new dog?" "I sure did," responded his friend. "He can´t swim.

oh no, not again!
Mood:  sad
Topic: lazy thoughts

just as i was getting excited to attend the SKC dog show this sunday, yoyo dropped a bomb to crush my hopes... i know, she's unhappy too, and meant 'lucky' sarcastically...

nah, i'm not going without yoyo. i had wanted to introduce all my friends to yoyo, especially my buddy- hammer lee (aka emily, with the silent 'h'...)

arh well, we'll go next year then...

anyway, another trivial on yoyo, the ckcs...

What is the lozenge spot found on Blenheims? The lozenge is unique and highly desirable, though not an essential, characteristic of the Blenheim. The story of the spot is told that when the Duke of Marlborough was fighting abroad in the Battle of Blenheim, his wife Sarah the Duchess is reported to have been in a very anxious state at home waiting for news. For comfort, she stroked one of their Blenheim Spaniels that was soon to have puppies. She repeatedly pressed her thumb on the dog's head. When news of the great battle victory arrived, five puppies were born bearing red thumbprints on their foreheads. This mark became known as the Blenheim or lozenge spot.

world's ugliest dog competition
Mood:  cheeky
Topic: lazy thoughts

yoyo is the only dog i know that has the most facial expressions... she loves to frown when deep in thoughts, she'll smile/ laugh when happy, she'll make funny faces to make me giggle, & her face will droop when sad, etc.

so today, when she told me she wants to register for the 'world's ugliest dog contest', i laughed until i split my sides....

oh, come on, that sassy girl is pretty, isn't she? how can she qualify as 'ugly'?
